ABOUT ME

Dr. Suárez is a trans man from the Texas-México border town of Eagle Pass, Texas.  He is a graduate of Eagle Pass High School-C.C. Winn Campus and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies at The University of Texas at Austin.  He has a license as a Texas secondary mathematics teacher (grades 8-12).  After several years of teaching, he received a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics Education. He is also certified as a Texas Legacy Master Mathematics Grades 8-12 Teacher and was certified as an Advanced Placement Statistics teacher. 


Dr. Suárez completed his Ph. D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University in December 2018.  His dissertation research consisted of three quantitative studies that examined the relationship between being children of same-sex parents and their developmental, early literacy, and early numeracy outcomes.
